I once was lost in darkest night
Yet thought I knew the way
The sin that promised joy and life
Had led me to the grave
I had no hope that You would own
A rebel to Your will
And if You had not loved me first
I would refuse You still

But as I ran my hell-bound race
Indifferent to the cost
You looked upon my helpless state
And led me to the cross
And I beheld God’s love displayed
You suffered in my place
You bore the wrath reserved for me
Now all I know is grace

All I Have Is Christ by Sovereign Grace Music

It’s amazing how many memories music from when I was younger can hold.

The thing about making big choices is that there is always the nagging voice in the back of your head asking “what if you choose the other way?” Doubts. I’ve always been a fairly terrible decision maker. I know the routine, look at the decision, pray over it, pray, pray and pray.
When facing a huge decision this year, a friend told me, “Making decisions is hard. You pray all you want, but in the end, you still have to decide one way and go for it.” I’ll face more tough decisions in life, but there is comfort in knowing that I cannot fall out of the will of God. I have to make a choice, but trusting Him makes it possible.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you. (Psalm 32:8)

Have you ever seen a sweeter puppy?

But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.

You can trust God. If God has called you to do something, why run to men? Why tell them? Why raise support from them? Why speak great things about yourself so that they might give? If God has called you, He will provide every one of your needs according to His riches in glory. If God is in it, He will hold you up.
